Thinking about dragging my upright out and doing a few local open mic nites.

Anyone ever play at any of the following:

Picks

Indigo

Charlie Bob's.

Care to offer some thoughts on your experience?

Any suggestions on other venues?

I'm looking for a reason to carry my rather large instrument out into the cold.

Thanks!

Jace,
Sorry, just seeing this. I've not played at Picks since it changed names/reopened. Hotel Indigo doesn't do much of an "open mic", do they? I thought Lee Rascone scheduled everyone there.

The Commodore still has the open mic and open rounds at the end of each night, I think you have to get their to sign up before 9 or earlier

I don't know about Charlie Bob's.

You might also check www.nashvillemuse.com and see if they have other open mic listings.
Thanks Eddie.

Ever played at the new Billy's idle hour?
Actually, no, I haven't. I tend to play the Commodore and Blue Bar, and every now and then, Hotel Indigo. They did have one at the Listening Room, but I haven't done that one. The shows I play there are usually scheduled.

I just booked a thing in April at Picks, but I haven't played there in a couple years. I've thrown a few back at the Idle Hour but not done the writer's night. I haven't played at French Quarter or Richard's Cafe in awhile either.

There's a writer's night or two at the Red Rooster on Demonbreun that I keep meaning to check out, but I haven't dropped by yet.
