Tammy Cassidy: Heart
Bought it today... more curious than anything... noticed some folks I've met had songs on the cd... wow. I wished I had gotten to pitch songs to Lynyrd Skynyrd. I think I'd pitched Highway Miles and Ride The Lightning of mine..., but alas... noticed they wrote with several country songwriters.

What song of yours would you have pitched to Lynyrd Skynyrd?

Cool. I heard the songwriter that co-wrote "God and Guns"...M Jones... the other night at Douglas Corner. Trent Jeffcoat, Amanda Martin, Mark Stephen Jones, and Ray Sisk... entertaining night. Hope none of you were there... and I didn't know you.. Anyway.

David, in the good old days, they were a writing band...they wrote 90% of their material...Rossington, Collins, VanZant, Powell, King, Gaines, Wilkerson...there is almost no one left and it has become a brand rather than what I grew up listening to...of course Ronnie's brother carries the torch as the singer and Gary Rossington is still around...i know a couple of guys who tour with them, guitar players, and they still do well. They took their genre to a whole other level in their heyday...Some of the old Southern Rockers stick together, i've seen Hughie from the Outlaws has joined them at times. Ronnie's widow runs a club here called Freebird Live, it's about a half mile from my studio at A1A Audio... alot of touring bands come through there... and she does alot of shows where she lets the local kids trying to break in atleast have a decent venue to come play.. what you been writin'? be well...see ya..moker
Moker..

Good talking to you. I read the list of songwriters... brought in some pro co-writers.. Yes, I like them too.. been hearing them for years.. and I miss southern rock. No, country don't do it. It's influenced by it. Well...I don't miss it entirely....been listening to some old Allman Bros tape in my car of late... a little this and that.

BTW...I am still writing some. We ought to bang something out. I figured you were busy...studio stuff..etc. Still pitching tv and film mostly on the business side of things. A little is happening there..

David
don't have a song suitable for them... yet! haha.... but I'm ordering the CD asap!
I knew MS Jones had a cut with them a coupla months ago... but didn't know when it would be released... cool! Guess that would be a result of Montage Music Group's pitch efforts. Aren't Mark and Trent both staff writer's there?
To be honest....I was thinking that Mark went somewhere else.... Trent is there.. don't know for sure though.. Mark is a good guy..Trent is one cool guy too.
I should've pitched them this one... ya' never know....
