What About Bob?
Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Bob Clay is a published and recorded songwriter, an active member of NSAI (for 16 years), a BMI writer/publisher (since 2000) and a long time member of SongU.com (ever since it started).
Bob is a guitarist (a Fender Tele is the primary 6-string choice) and multi-instrumentalist (mandolin, bass, ukulele, keyboards, dulcimer, lap steel, kazoo, harmonica and electric frying pan) who writes mostly in the country music genre, with an aim toward commercial country music. Bob also dabbles in the rock and blues idioms when he can't write a country song. Bob makes 2-3 trips to Nashville each year, for songwriting and fun. He enjoys interactive co-writing and has also done internet collaborations for over 15 years. On his own, Bob admits he would only write 2 or 3 songs each year; hence a primary reason to collaborate. In the 80s, 90s, and 2005-2006, Bob performed in various country and rock bands (most notably the bodacious Bodine Brothers) in a four state area: Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. These days, Bob focuses on songwriting and recording demos in his small and humble basement studio: an eight track analog unit and a few old microphones.
