My buddy Tony Stampley will be staying with us and will have me up to play where he is playing. Must practice the next few days...lol We will be playing, writing, fishing and of course sunning and drinking. My husband has been working hard all year driving truck around the country, supporting me and my music...it will be a well deserved holiday for…

Just a quick "hi" to everyone in here. I've just joined the site and am finding my feet.
Although I go under the name "Self Tort" I'm more commonly known as Brian.
Not sure how I will fit in here, as my music is more rock oriented than country.
Just about to post some music and some videos. Hope to catch up with you all in here.
Cheers
Brian

Hi all,
I am heading up to Nashville the weekend of April 17th... Actually a band I book is playing at a club in Dunlap, TN and then on that Saturday they are performing at a benefit in the Walmart Shopping Center for the Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville.
From there I am heading up to Nashville to my condo (timeshare). I will be there for the week and really looking forward to it.
ANYONE ELSE going to be kicking around MUSIC CITY that week?

5 Days in Twangtown
I wrote this blog about the events of my latest Nashville trip mostly for my own documentation. The highlights are:
· Had dinner with #1 writer, Jan Dyer
· Was asked to co-write by Billy Dawson
· Jim Femino declared I was a celebrity during a Tin Pan show
· May have “Stepfather of the Bride” story included in a niche marketing article on Music Dish.
· Got to hang with my on-line friends, Bob Clay, Steve Biscarret, Angie Owens, Eddie…

Hi Guys and Galls,
Just a little introduction, I’ve always enjoyed listening and playing music, worked with several bands, and even worked as a Club Singer in the U.K. Have always written songs , born into a show bizz family,
Grandma was a member of The Carter family a distant relative of A.P. Carter who helped establish The Carter family dynasty .
Pop was a part time Hypnotist, Frank Jenkins senior and also spent
A long time with the Marine Commando’s during and after…

How many times have each one of us stopped dead in our tracks and just looked up into Heaven and shouted: "WHY LORD" and WHY ME?" I know I have.
The thing or actually the "fact" that I've come to realize is just how important this word "WHY" is? Let me explain...When we are called by God (and we know this already) and are awaiting plans/instructions for our next move; sometimes the next move is no move at all...WHY? Because we are either not ready, not prepared, or not equipped for…

When I was growing up as a preacher's kid, the words: IT'S PRAYING TIME became a "constant" but also a very "ordinary" phrase to me...Me and my brother jus took it for granted that whatever the need was, the PREACHER would handle it and everything would be ok...My mom taught me how to pray, how to fast and HOW TO BEG.....(not really the begging part, I taught that to myself) ha! I can still hear her today saying alright kids, it's praying time; the enemy's at it again and we're coming against…

How many, many times have we heard this phrase? (READY! SET! GO!) The question we have to ask ourselves, ESPECIALLY ME is "who is doing the talking here" and which "voice" is telling us we are ready and everything is set and it's time to make that move.
I've learned from many experiences that if it isn't God's voice telling me, hey, Tery I've got everything set over here in the promised land and it's time to go and claim it," I DON'T MOVE...You see the problem is: there ARE and…

I don't know about you, but I've had some REALLY bad times and some REALLY good ones....I'm so glad that Father said He would bring us THROUGH the valleys....
It's hard to look at your circumstances (while your going through them) and say, oh yeah, I know that Father is getting glory out of this and everything is working out for my good....sometimes, while in the valley, I just wanna SCREAM, do you even see what is going on down here Lord? But you know what, HE DOES and I can now say, YES,…

Hello everybody! Well my life is finally getting back to normal after a busy few weeks. I just uploaded a new song of mine called "everybodys waiting". I was planning to make a few changes on it, but the more I tried to change it, the more I realized I was doing so for the wrong reasons. So I decided to leave it as it was originally written, sometimes you gotta take risks and go with your gut. Thanks everybody again for all the comments and messages regarding the spotlight writer thing. I have…

Our Better Angels
© Mike Kissel Publishing 2009
We’re brother killing brother
Finding enemy in friend
If we all intend to long endure
We’ll need a way we can transcend
Down the mystic chord of memory
I read a page of timeless line
A cry for peace and harmony
Begs for us to find
Our better angels
Our better angels
There’s people killing others with their own suicide
Terror and chaos is their wont
Are they…

My dear friend, Mary Goble, is living with ALS. It is a terrbile disease to be struck with and effects the entire family, and friends. Please watch the video and if you are moved to help with research efforts, click the link and give and/or WRITE to your local leaders to get the gov't moving along with funding and research. IT is a terrible way to die, the most torturous in my opinion. ANYONE could be struck with ALS; that is the danger. We just don't know enough about it yet. Thanks and God…

First of all, I'd like to say hello to everyone on Tunesmith. I happened to stumble upon this online community, and decided to join. In "Casey's Corner", I can answer questions about music publishing, songplugging, and give my point of view on music industry issues. Whatever I say is not meant to offend anyone, and it is not meant to be taken as the gospel. I know a few good snake-handlers, if you are looking for a preacher.
At some point, I will post some sort of bio, but for now…
